Jesus was telling the people of the world who were listening to Him, that they had to believe the truth of Him, about Him and that was in Him, or they wouldn't make it. He made it clear to them that if they did not hear with ears to hear the truth, they would die in their sins and there would be no hope for them. He then told the Jews who did believe in Him, that if they held to His teachings, they would know the truth and it would indeed set them free.
In our lives today absolutely nothing has changed, it is still the same for us as believers and it is still the same for every person who is lost out in the world. But, the truth is not only important for that one most important issue; it is everything in relation to all the rest about life in this world.
The truth about and in life sets us free from many things, from lies, misinformation and from all of the many errors of life; it shields us from ignorance which is not bliss and can be a real deadly trap.
One of the things about Christians that cause them so much trouble is there battle about love, about loving people and being loving in the face of it all. But the truth is that we can never let anything block out, or be raised up above the truth, even love, as though that somehow supersedes truth. The truth is what guides us, directs us, it will shield us and protects us, and it will reveal to us what we need to know.
Satan is constantly working to keep the truth from us. He works to blind us to the truth, or mix it with lies, etc, to keep us ignorant, compromised or elevating something else in its place or above it.
You can love all people, do what you can to help them, but you cannot ignore the truth without paying a terrible price. That is what has been happening for far too long, and Christians as well as America and the rest of the world need to open their eyes soon.
You must pay the price to know what the truth is in each situation, not just believe what you want to or feel like, or what others say, you must learn what the truth really is, then believe it, embrace it , and no matter what stand firm to defend it with all you have.
Christians too often defer to their hearts, and accept anything and sometimes everything, refusing to use discernment, or make proper judgments as to the truth of what they are dealing with or to the action that is required.
They too often believe that anything contrary is wrong, anything that doesn't seem loving is wrong. I dare say some might have felt or even said that Jesus was wrong in the way He spoke to those unbelieving Jews, but of course He wasn't wrong. We need to read our Bibles and listen to the Lord, and to Proverbs, and a whole host of scriptures that teach that we are to be wise, to know what is real, and, to know, understand and make a quality judgment about those who are in our midst.
We can still love them right in the middle of their lost condition, still pray for our enemies, do good to them and respond properly, telling them the words they must hear to save their very lives and do it from a right heart and spirit. We can love, all the time without being ignorant, willfully blind, or speaking contrary and we can the same to one another.
It is as though somehow it is more loving to not speak those words, to not offend them or hurt their feelings, but we know that being lost without Christ will hurt much more than telling them what they need to hear. We must be willing to speak the truth, to speak what is necessary when it is necessary and let that be the love we show them.
When we do not do this, when we choose the safe, more comfortable way that seems good enough, or when we do what we think will cause less trouble, we lose out and do damage immediately. We have now deceived ourselves, acted in ignorance, and make ourselves and our children open to more error, deception and lies and can become prey for the wolves.
The sad reality of life is that in this fallen world the people almost always choose the safe way, and are willfully blind to the truth and to their enemies. They either hideaway from it all or pretend that there is no threat. They will even stand against the truth and will fight for the enemy, rather than to see, know and defend the truth or their own people.
People don't like conflict, they don't like going against the flow, against the crowd or the norm. They don't like anything that causes unrest, and so feel anything that does is wrong. But it is not wrong when it is what is needed.
When it comes to our own personal life and the lives of our families, to the life of other believers and their families, we must be wise and careful. We need to be diligent, and stay on top of things when it comes to problems, to the devil and all that he and those with him are about, to troublers and enemies in our midst. We must be wise and steadfast in knowing the truth and then implementing the proper response so that we protect ourselves and others.
The terrible truth of life shown over, and over, and over throughout history, is that the people will refuse to deal with their enemies until it is too late and the boot is already on their necks, and then they will cry out for help.
I tell you that the people of the church, and of America, Christian or not, must rise up now, receive the truth and stop playing with their enemies, spiritual and human one's.
The very sad thing is that most people refuse to recognize an enemy because they really don't want to stand up inside and fight. Well, that is alright if you really cannot do it, as the rest of us will understand, but then just step aside, and pray and don't fight against the ones who are defending you and trying to help save you or your nation and your lives.
If people cannot or will not learn the truth about what is going on, then they need to just step back and watch, because it is the Lord's way to protect His people and He expects the same thing out of us.
We are in the last days, and Christians need to be willing to learn what that means, to know what is upon us and what is coming upon the world. We cannot wait any longer to acknowledge the truth of all of this and respond properly, there is no time left to waste.
Understand something else about warfare, no enemy respects people who will not stand up and fight for themselves, especially the enemies of the east, they consider that inexcusable cowardice. If you want their respect, stand up and fight for your freedom and do it now.
We as Christians have an enemy that is not only wreaking havoc all over the world, but he is doing much damage in and to the church as well. He does not respect us and will only be put in his place when we set him there. When you stand up to him, let him know who you are, and that you know who he isn't, then you get the victory.
When you move forward in life as the person God has made you to be, and let the Lord in you fight your battles, you win. You can do it without violence, without treating people wrong or without being in appropriate, but you must do it. You must be willing to know, and speak the truth in all situations whether people understand it or not, or like it or not.
Be like Jesus who always told people what they needed to hear because He loved them so much. Remember, it is good for them and will change their lives if they are willing!

21 Once more Jesus said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.”
22 This made the Jews ask, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?”
23 But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”
25 “Who are you?” they asked.
“Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26 “I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.”
27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” 30 Even as he spoke, many believed in him.
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
